Most places give you a four-hour slot and a minimum spend. We give you the room from the moment we open until we close, and what you spend behind the bar is entirely your business.
Your own bar
Served in the room. No queueing downstairs, no wandering off mid-speech.
Record decks
Two turntables, and they work properly. Bring a bag of records and go for it — great for those old skool themed nights.
Screen, sound and a tablet
Wall-mounted screens for photo slideshows or presentations, and a tablet hooked up to the sound system. Yours to control, no faffing with cables.
Mirror ball & lighting
It's a proper party room. The disco ball is not ironic.
Bring your own food
Buffet, platters, a cake, whatever you like — no charge, and no obligation to use a caterer.
Decorate it how you like
Balloons, banners, tinsel, backdrops, table covers. Set-up from 12pm, an hour before we open at 1pm.
Birthdays, wakes, christenings, and the odd retirement do.
We have hosted 18ths and 80ths, wakes and christenings, engagement parties, team socials, darts nights, committee meetings and at least one surprise party that stayed a surprise.
If you are planning something and aren’t sure whether the room suits it, just ask; we would rather tell you honestly than take a booking that disappoints.

Optional extras
No minimum bar spend. No deposit on the room. The hire fee is the whole price. The only deposit we ask for is on the record decks, and you get that back at the end of the night.
The questions we get every week.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, and there is no charge for it. Buffet, platters, a cake, someone's mum's sandwiches — bring what you like. We don't charge corkage on food and we don't insist you use a caterer.
Is there a deposit?
No deposit. You pay the hire fee and that's the arrangement. We'd just ask you let us know as early as you can if plans change, so we can offer the date to someone else.
What about music — do we need a DJ?
Not unless you want one. As standard we give you a tablet hooked up to the room's sound system, so you can run your own playlist all night. If you'd rather have a DJ, ours is £150 for 7pm till 11pm, or you can bring your own at no extra cost. After 11pm the tablet takes over again.
Can we use the record decks?
Yes, and it is the thing people remember. There are two turntables in the room and they work properly. Bring a bag of your own records and go all out — a great hit for those old skool themed nights
We ask for a £100 refundable deposit when you are using the decks yourselves. That is purely because a dropped needle is the one thing that realistically breaks; you get it straight back at the end of the night if all is well. Our own DJ can play vinyl too — ask us about that one, as it depends what records are around on the night.
How late can we go?
On Friday and Saturday we're licensed until 1am, but the function room closes at 11. So the room is yours until then. Sunday to Thursday it runs until we close. Either way you have the room for the whole day, not a four-hour slot.
Can we decorate the room?
Yes — balloons, banners, tinsel, backdrops, table covers. Light decoration of any kind is fine. The photos on this page are a guest's own birthday setup, so that's a realistic idea of what you can do with it.
What time can we get in to set up?
From 12pm, an hour before we open at 1pm. That's usually plenty for putting up banners and laying out food, and it means you're not still blowing up balloons when the first guests arrive.
Is there parking?
Yes, free on site for you and your guests. We're also a two-minute walk from First Direct Arena, so anyone coming by train can easily walk it or its a cheap uber ride.
Is the room accessible?
Partly, and we'd rather be straight with you than have you find out on the day. There is one small step at the entrance, and we do not have an accessible toilet. The function room itself is flat, so once you're inside there's room to move about comfortably. If someone in your party has specific access needs, message us and we'll tell you honestly whether the room will work for them.
